19 Years After Issuing Pattas, Why Are Lands Still Not Allotted? - Kavitha

Telangana Rakshana Sena chief Kalvakuntla Kavitha expressed concern over the failure to allot housing plots to poor beneficiaries in Himayathnagar revenue village under Moinabad Municipality, despite pattas being issued 19 years ago. She criticised the government for allegedly ignoring the beneficiaries’ 75-day protest seeking allotment of the promised plots. Kavitha recalled that housing pattas were distributed to 290 poor beneficiaries in Survey No. 151 in 2007, but the beneficiaries have reportedly not been shown their allotted plots and have therefore been unable to construct houses.

Kavitha said the beneficiaries had approached the erstwhile Andhra Pradesh government and successive BRS and Congress governments in Telangana seeking the allotment of their plots, but their grievances remained unresolved. She alleged that efforts were now being made to construct a market yard on the same land. Kavitha demanded that the proposed market yard should not be built on the land allotted to the poor and urged the government to immediately identify and hand over their plots. She said the Telangana Rakshana Sena would stand by the beneficiaries and continue the fight until justice is delivered.
