South Zone Junior Athletics Championships: Telangana Athletes Shine

‘Lakshya’ Athletes delivered impressive performances at the South Zone Junior National Athletics Championships being held in Puducherry. Telangana’s Tholem Sritheja produced a standout performance in the women’s heptathlon, winning the gold medal with 4,964 points. She also broke a 32-year-old South Zone record of 4,817 points set by Sumavathi in 1994.

In the triathlon, Telangana’s Varsa Pradeep clinched the gold medal with 2,743 points. Kanchu Lavleet of Telangana won gold in the long jump with a leap of 4.71 metres, setting a national record in the process. In the men’s 100m, Telangana’s Mohammed Kaif won silver in 10.66 seconds, while Andhra Pradesh’s Duddu Seshhu secured silver in the 200m with a timing of 21.63 seconds. Telangana’s Srividya Dora won bronze in the women’s long jump with a jump of 3.82 metres.
