Prachi Choudhary Wins Asian Games 400m Bronze

Indian athlete Prachi Choudhary clinched the bronze medal in the women’s 400m final at the 2026 Asian Games, clocking 53.21 seconds. The medal marks her first individual Asian Games medal. Bahrain’s Salwa Naser won gold in a Games-record 49.20 seconds, while Iran’s Zahra Zarei Manoujan took silver with a time of 52.38 seconds. Prachi also shared a memorable frame with Naser after the medal ceremony.

Prachi had finished third in her heat with a timing of 53.46 seconds and qualified for the final as one of the fastest non-automatic qualifiers. She improved her performance in the final to secure the bronze. India’s Kiran Pahal finished fifth in 53.41 seconds. Prachi is also set to compete in the women’s 4x400m relay, where India will look to add another medal.
