CRDA Clarifies Gramakantam Exemptions

The Andhra Pradesh Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA) has clarified the criteria for exemptions related to Gramakantam lands. December 8, 2014, has been fixed as the cutoff date. Lands with constructions existing before the cutoff date will be considered for exemption, while registrations made after the cutoff date will not qualify for the exemption. A total of 6,473.72 acres have been exempted from the Land Pooling Scheme (LPS).

To resolve pending applications, a district-level committee has been constituted. The committee will conduct field-level verification of 685 applications by examining official records and satellite imagery. The Joint Collector-led committee will take a decision on the applications, and CRDA has stated that all eligible farmers will be provided the benefits they are entitled to.
