CM Chandrababu Assures Fishermen Families

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has directed officials to distribute 50 kg of rice free of cost to fishing families who have been unable to venture into the sea for the past five days due to heavy rains. During a review of the heavy rains and flood situation in North Andhra at Amaravati on Saturday, he instructed officials to intensify relief measures in inundated areas and closely monitor the flood situation.

Naidu also reviewed the rising inflows into rivers and reservoirs and directed officials to make full use of the increased water availability by filling reservoirs as well as small and medium water bodies. He stressed the need to prioritise water security and explore proposals for new barrages between Pulichintala and Prakasam Barrage and downstream of Prakasam Barrage. He also called for expediting power supply arrangements for the Hiramandalam lift project and diverting Vamsadhara water to the Hiramandalam reservoir.
