Rohit Sharma Focuses on the World Cup

India star batter Rohit Sharma has opened up about his ambitions for the 2027 ODI World Cup, saying he still has unfinished business in the format. Ahead of India’s ODI series against the West Indies, Rohit said he never feels that everything he set out to achieve in cricket is complete. He added that as long as he continues playing, there will always be a new target to pursue, with the World Cup currently being his major focus.

Rohit has been part of India’s two T20 World Cup-winning campaigns, including the 2007 title-winning side, and led India to the 2024 T20 World Cup triumph. However, he missed out on ODI World Cup glory after India lost the 2023 final to Australia in Ahmedabad. The 2027 ODI World Cup will be jointly hosted by South Africa, Zimbabwe and Namibia in October and November, giving Rohit another opportunity to pursue the coveted title.
