Indian javelin star Neeraj Chopra has been included in India's athletics squad for the upcoming Commonwealth Games. Despite missing the Doha Diamond League and currently recovering from a back injury, the Athletics Federation of India (AFI) has shown confidence in the Olympic champion by naming him in the 32-member contingent announced for the prestigious event, which begins on July 23.
Neeraj Chopra is presently training in Switzerland as he continues his recovery and preparations for the Commonwealth Games. The Indian squad also features promising athletes such as Gurindervir Singh, who recently set a national record in the 100 metres, and Animesh Kujur, who impressed in the 200 metres. The Athletics Federation expects the team to put up a strong performance and challenge for medals across multiple events.
