Chennai Super Kings (CSK) are preparing for the 2027 Indian Premier League season after failing to reach the playoffs in each of the previous three editions, according to the report. The franchise has finalised its coaching staff, including a head coach, two assistant coaches and a bowling coach. However, the team is set to begin preparations without a dedicated batting coach following Mike Hussey’s departure. CSK CEO Kasi Viswanathan said appointing a batting coach was not part of head coach Zaheer Khan’s current plan. He added that the team was considering using assistant coach Batty as a batting mentor instead.
Meanwhile, speculation about Mumbai Indians all-rounder Hardik Pandya joining CSK has been circulating on social media, with some fans linking the rumours to a cryptic post published by the franchise late Tuesday night. The post asked fans not to overanalyse its message, fuelling further discussion because Pandya wears jersey number 33 for Mumbai Indians. However, Kasi Viswanathan has previously dismissed reports of a possible trade involving Pandya. As of the information in the report, there has been no official confirmation of a transfer or a change in CSK’s captaincy plans.
