

India continued its medal-winning momentum at the Commonwealth Games by securing another gold medal and two silver medals in a remarkable day for the contingent. Para athletes Dilip Mahadu Gavit and Mohammed Basil dominated the men's T47 100m event by finishing first and second respectively, earning gold and silver for the country. Gavit clocked an impressive 10.71 seconds, while Basil finished in 10.83 seconds. In athletics, Shree Shankar added another silver medal with a strong performance in the long jump.
India's success extended beyond athletics as the boxing contingent guaranteed six more medals, surpassing the nation's medal tally from the previous Commonwealth Games. Meanwhile, Animesh Kujur advanced to the semifinals of the men's 200m event, while Tajinderpal Singh Toor and Samardeep Singh Gill qualified for the men's shot put final. The country's overall medal tally now stands at 15, including three gold, nine silver, and three bronze medals, placing India eighth in the medal standings.
