Asian Games: India Wins Two Shooting Bronzes

India’s shooting contingent added two bronze medals on the fourth day of the Asian Games, with the men’s and women’s skeet teams finishing third. Anantjeet Singh Naruka, Mairaj Ahmad and Bhavtegh Singh secured bronze with 331 points, while Raiza Dhillon, Maheshwari Chauhan and Parinaaz Dhaliwal also finished third with 331 points. However, expectations around Manu Bhaker and Esha Singh were not met. Manu finished fifth in the women’s 10m air pistol final with 181.1 points, while Esha failed to qualify for the final after finishing 15th in qualification. India also finished fourth in the team event.

India also secured a bronze in men’s badminton after losing 1-3 to China in the semifinal, marking the team’s second consecutive Asian Games medal. In kabaddi, the men’s and women’s teams continued their winning run, defeating Bangladesh and Iran respectively. Indian mixed doubles pairs progressed to the table tennis quarterfinals, while rowing crews advanced to the finals. Jay Meena won India’s first-ever Asian Games medal in soft tennis. In women’s hockey, India thrashed Thailand 20-1, with Deepika scoring nine goals and setting a new personal record.
