Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka said that development becomes meaningful only when its benefits reach the poor and weaker sections of society. He participated in Diwali celebrations with beneficiaries of Indiramma housing scheme in the Madhira constituency of Khammam district. As part of the ‘Diwali in Our Indiramma Home’ programme, celebrations were held across Errupalem, Madhira and Bonakal mandals. The Deputy Chief Minister joined beneficiary families in bursting firecrackers and celebrating the festival. He said he was delighted to celebrate Diwali alongside families who had received homes under the scheme.
Bhatti Vikramarka said the Congress-led people's government was committed to the welfare of the poor. He stated that Indiramma houses were being constructed with the aim of ensuring that every underprivileged family had a roof over its head. He emphasised that genuine progress could be achieved only when development and welfare benefits reached disadvantaged communities. The celebrations provided an opportunity to share the festive spirit with beneficiaries and their families in their new homes.
