After a disappointing Zimbabwe tour, young sensation Abhishek Sharma bounced back in stunning fashion with a sensational knock in the Punjab State Inter-District One-Day tournament. Opening for Amritsar, he smashed a breathtaking 233 runs off just 91 balls, silencing critics in style. His explosive innings included 15 fours and 25 sixes, dominating the opposition bowlers completely. Along with Abhay Chaudhary, he built a massive 305-run partnership for the first wicket in just 24.4 overs, powering his team to a colossal total of 533 runs in 50 overs.
Abhishek had recently struggled during the Zimbabwe tour, scoring only 11 runs across three innings, raising concerns about his form. Across series against Ireland, England, and Zimbabwe, he managed just 191 runs in 10 innings. However, this remarkable double century marks a strong comeback and boosts his confidence ahead of the 2026 Asian Games. With intense competition for the opening spot in Team India, Abhishek will need to maintain this form to secure his place.
