Trump Is Copying Congress Guarantees – DK Shivakumar

Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar has made interesting remarks about US President Donald Trump, claiming that Trump is now copying the guarantee schemes promised by the Congress. Speaking in Bengaluru on Tuesday, Shivakumar said the welfare schemes implemented by the Congress government in Karnataka had received a positive response from the people and described them as a “blockbuster”. He made the comments while highlighting the benefits of the state government’s guarantee programmes.

Shivakumar referred to Trump’s recent proposal to provide a $5,000 “dividend” to every adult American if Republicans retain control of the House of Representatives and Senate in the November midterm elections. Trump had said in Ireland on Sunday that such a payment could be possible, citing the large amount of revenue being generated by the US government. He had also made similar remarks earlier at a Republican Party meeting in Dallas. Referring to these comments, Shivakumar said Trump was copying the guarantees announced by Congress in Karnataka.
