

The coalition government led by Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has decided to create three new districts and five new revenue divisions in the state. The government issued the related notifications on Thursday. The Chief Minister approved the formation of the new districts on Tuesday. The new districts will be centered around Markapuram, Madanapalle and Rampachodavaram, and a new district named Polavaram will also be established. With these additions, the total number of districts in the state will increase from 26 to 29.
The government also approved the formation of five new revenue divisions and one new mandal. These decisions were made after reviewing the report submitted by the ministerial committee on district reorganization. The newly approved revenue divisions are Nakkapalli in Anakapalli district, Addanki in Prakasam district, Pileru in Madanapalle district, Banaganapalle in Nandyal district and Madakasira in Sri Sathya Sai district. The government has also directed officials to create a new mandal named Peddaharivanam by bifurcating the existing Adoni mandal in Kurnool district.
Polavaram district will be formed with the Rampachodavaram and Chinturu revenue divisions. The Rampachodavaram division will comprise Rampachodavaram, Devipatnam, Y. Ramavaram, Gurtedu, Addateegala, Gangavaram, Maredumilli and Rajavommangi mandals. The Chinturu division will include Yetapaka, Chinturu, Kunavaram and V.R. Puram mandals.
Markapuram district will be formed with the mandals falling under Yerragondapalem, Markapuram, Kanigiri and Giddaluru Assembly constituencies. The Markapuram division will consist of Yerragondapalem, Pullalacheruvu, Tripuranthakam, Dornala, Pedaaraveedu, Turlapadu, Markapuram, Podili and Konakanamitla mandals. The Kanigiri division will include Hanumanthunipadu, Veligandla, Kanigiri, Pedacherlopalli, Chandrasekharapuram, Pamuru, Giddaluru, Bestavaripeta, Racherla, Komarole, Kanham and Ardaveedu mandals.
