Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has announced that his government is open to allowing movie ticket price hikes—but only under one key condition: film producers must share 20% of their profits with the employees of the Telugu Film Federation. Speaking at a grand felicitation event organized by the Telugu Film Industry Employees Federation and the 24 Crafts Union at Yousufguda Police Grounds, Hyderabad, Revanth Reddy emphasized his vision to transform Hyderabad into a global film hub, on par with industries like IT and Pharmaceuticals. He even expressed confidence that with collective efforts, Hollywood films could soon be shot in Hyderabad.
Addressing the challenges faced by film workers, the Chief Minister assured several welfare measures. A special ₹10 crore welfare fund will be established to support industry workers. Additionally, he announced plans to allocate house plots, provide corporate-style education for workers’ children, and extend Rajiv Arogya Sree health benefits to their families. The Chief Minister’s intervention comes after a recent standoff between producers and unions that had halted film shoots across Telangana. His mediation led to wage hikes and restored harmony within the industry. Revanth’s latest promises mark another major boost for thousands of Tollywood workers, reinforcing the state’s commitment to their well-being.
