Tension was reported in Tarnaka after Telangana BJP State President N. Ramchander Rao was detained by police near his residence. According to the BJP, Rao had planned to visit Nalgonda District BJP President Dr. Nagam Varshit Reddy’s family and express his support following an alleged attack at their residence. The party alleged that the incident involved damage to the house and an assault on Varshit Reddy’s mother.
The BJP claimed that Rao was placed under house arrest to prevent him from travelling to Nalgonda. When he confronted the police near his residence in Tarnaka, he was subsequently detained. The party criticised the action and alleged that the Congress government was restricting democratic activities. The police action and the allegations surrounding the incident are likely to draw further political reactions.
