Elections to the ZPTC constituencies of Pulivendula, Vemula, Vempalli and Lingala witnessed allegations of widespread irregularities and violence, with tensions escalating in Pulivendula. YSRCP leaders accused TDP leaders and workers of creating disturbances from the early hours of polling. They alleged that TDP supporters entered polling booths, forcibly removed YSRCP polling agents and prevented voters from reaching polling stations. The opposition party also claimed that some polling stations were locked and that attempts were made to rig votes from as early as 5 am. It further alleged that the police supported the ruling party's workers and prevented opposition agents from performing their duties.
YSRCP leaders also alleged that petrol bombs were used during the clashes, leaving journalists and voters injured. Reports indicated that nearly 50 per cent polling had been recorded by 11 am. The party further accused BTech Ravi's relatives and TDP supporters of jointly creating disturbances across the constituency. YSRCP leaders criticised the police for allegedly supporting the ruling party and failing to prevent violence. Incidents of tension and clashes during the Pulivendula polling have also been reported by local media.
