Telangana Minister Vakiti Srihari criticized former ministers and MLAs from Palamuru district for allegedly misleading people with political campaigns over water issues. He said the visit by BRS leaders to Karnataka’s Guduru region and their slogan “Water in Karnataka – Dry Lands in Telangana” was aimed at political gains rather than protecting the interests of Palamuru farmers.
The Minister stated that those who fought for Telangana in the name of water, funds, and jobs failed to question Karnataka’s dam projects during the previous BRS government’s nine-and-a-half-year rule. He said the Congress government is working with a clear plan by preparing DPRs for barrage-cum-bridges on the Krishna and Bhima rivers in coordination with the Karnataka government. He added that the government is also focusing on the development, rehabilitation, and expansion of Bhutpur Dam-related areas and urged opposition leaders to stop misleading the public.
