Yash rose to pan India stardom with the blockbuster action gangster franchise KGF. Both KGF: Chapter 1 and KGF: Chapter 2 achieved massive box-office success, earning widespread recognition for the Kannada star. The films collected huge revenues and established Yash as one of the most popular actors in Indian cinema. However, recent box-office trends have shown that smaller films can also achieve remarkable success without massive budgets. For instance, the Telugu film Hanu-Man, reportedly made on a budget of around ₹2 crore, went on to earn more than ₹400 crore worldwide. Now, another Kannada film is drawing attention for its reported box-office performance.
The Kannada romantic drama Premada Oorali, reportedly made on a budget of just ₹2–3 crore, was released in theatres last month and has allegedly collected more than ₹135 crore within a month. According to reports, the film has surpassed the reported lifetime gross of KGF: Chapter 1 in the Kannada market, placing it among the highest-grossing Kannada films. Released in 2018, KGF: Chapter 1 reportedly earned around ₹135 crore gross in Karnataka. If the reported figures for Premada Oorali are accurate, its performance would mark a notable milestone for a low-budget production. The film’s reported success has also renewed discussion among moviegoers about the importance of storytelling and audience connection, showing how a film can attract significant attention without a big production budget. The box-office figures and rankings should be verified against reliable trade sources.
