A special glimpse from Prabhas’ upcoming film Fauzi recently received a positive response from fans and audiences. However, a scene featuring freedom fighter Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose introducing Prabhas’ character to Adolf Hitler has sparked controversy. Netaji’s grandnephew, Chandra Kumar Bose, objected to the depiction, arguing that it makes Netaji appear like a sidekick to a fictional character. He also expressed concern that the scene presents Netaji’s meeting with Hitler as a casual introduction rather than a politically significant encounter connected to India’s freedom struggle.
According to reports, Chandra Kumar Bose and the family want the filmmakers to apologise and portray Netaji with the dignity and historical context he deserves. Samajwadi Party MP Awadhesh Prasad has also criticised the way the meeting is depicted. The makers’ response to the objections is awaited. Produced by Mythri Movie Makers, Fauzi is a big-budget war action drama featuring Imanvi, Anupam Kher, Mithun Chakraborty, Jayaprada and others in key roles. Vishal Chandrasekhar is composing the music, and the film is scheduled to release in theatres on March 19, 2027.
