New Zealand have lost the first two matches of their five-match T20I series against India and must win the third game to stay in contention. The match is scheduled to take place in Wellington on Tuesday. The hosts have also been dealt a setback with fast bowlers Matt Henry and Lockie Ferguson sidelined due to injuries. Speaking at a press conference, New Zealand spin-bowling all-rounder Michael Bracewell admitted that India had put his team under pressure in the previous two games. He said the side had learned from its mistakes and would look to make a strong comeback in the upcoming match.
Bracewell described India as one of the top teams in international cricket and stressed that New Zealand would need to perform at its best in both batting and bowling to beat them. He pointed out that India’s batters had played aggressively in the death overs, putting the New Zealand bowlers under considerable pressure. Recalling a six struck off the final delivery of one of his overs, Bracewell said small moments like these can have a major impact on T20 results. He expressed confidence that New Zealand would improve its performance in Wellington and return to the series contest.
