Vivo has introduced its new 5G smartphone, the Vivo Y600, in China, with a massive 10,000mAh battery as its biggest highlight. According to reports, the phone earned a Guinness World Record after reportedly streaming videos continuously for 32 hours and 37 minutes during a test conducted in August. The smartphone features a 6.83-inch AMOLED display with a refresh rate of up to 120Hz, HDR support and 10-bit colour output. It is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7300e processor and comes with LPDDR4X RAM and UFS 3.1 storage. The device runs OriginOS 6 based on Android and is available in multiple RAM and storage configurations. In China, the 6GB RAM and 128GB storage variant is priced at 1,999 yuan (approximately ₹28,450), while the 8GB RAM and 128GB version costs 2,099 yuan (around ₹29,875). The 6GB RAM and 256GB model is priced at 2,199 yuan (approximately ₹31,280), and the top-end 8GB RAM and 256GB variant costs 2,499 yuan (around ₹35,560).
In terms of cameras, the Vivo Y600 features a 50MP rear camera with an f/1.8 aperture and an 8MP front camera for selfies and video calls. Its 10,000mAh battery supports 44W wired charging, while the USB Type-C port also enables reverse charging, allowing users to charge other compatible devices. Additional features include an in-display optical fingerprint sensor, face unlock, Bluetooth 5.4, NFC, an infrared remote-control function and 5G connectivity. The large battery capacity and extended video-streaming performance are among the phone’s key selling points. However, Vivo has not yet announced whether the Y600 will be launched in India or when it might become available in the Indian market. Interested buyers will have to wait for an official announcement from the company regarding its availability outside China.
