The team representing Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna, popularly known as Virosh, has filed a formal complaint with the Cyber Crime authorities in Hyderabad, seeking an impartial investigation into allegedly false and misleading content circulating online about the couple. According to the team’s statement, the complaint covers various forms of online activity, including fabricated narratives, manipulated screenshots, impersonation and targeted harassment across social media platforms. The team has also submitted relevant links and supporting evidence to help authorities examine the allegations. The complaint reportedly draws a distinction between genuine criticism and the deliberate spread of misinformation, emphasising that while people have the right to express their opinions and criticise public figures, fabricated or manipulated claims should not be presented as facts.
The Virosh team has urged authorities to investigate suspected coordinated or paid online campaigns wherever sufficient evidence is available. It has also requested that each suspected instance of publishing, reposting or amplifying potentially unlawful content be examined individually, with appropriate legal action taken wherever warranted. The team has appealed to social media users to verify information before sharing it and to avoid presenting speculation or unverified claims as established facts. Reiterating its commitment to protecting the dignity and reputation of Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna, the team stated that it would pursue lawful means to address the issue. The allegations and supporting evidence will now be subject to examination by the relevant authorities.
