Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has criticised YSRCP chief Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy over alleged violence and disruptions during the local body election process. Naidu claimed that YSRCP supporters were involved in incidents across several areas, including Punganur, Rayachoti, Kanigiri, Darsi, Kadapa, Thamballapalle and Tirupati. He presented videos of alleged incidents and released a booklet titled “Same Violence, Same Lies, Same Anarchy,” outlining his party’s allegations against YSRCP. Naidu also criticised the previous government’s handling of law and order, while asserting that the current government would follow the State Election Commission’s rules and respect democratic institutions.
Naidu further alleged that YSRCP was engaging in violence while also approaching courts over the election process. He cited alleged incidents involving the seizure of nomination papers, attacks on party offices and damage to vehicles, and called for public discussion of the incidents. Highlighting the 2024 election results, he said the NDA alliance secured 57 per cent of the vote and that his government was focused on welfare, development and good governance. He also pointed to efforts to attract investment and accelerate industrial growth to create jobs. Naidu reiterated that his government would respect the directions of the Election Commission and the courts, and prioritise law and order in the state.
