The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in Maharashtra has cancelled Blinkit’s food licence after inspections reportedly uncovered expired food products worth ₹32.71 lakh. Officials identified 18,405 expired food items in a single day. The handling of unsold inventory has also come under scrutiny, with authorities taking the matter seriously.
An FIR has been registered at Bhiwandi Taluka Police Station following allegations of a conspiracy to reintroduce expired goods into the market for sale. Criminal cases have reportedly been filed against the company’s directors and managers, as well as scrap vendors. The investigation into the matter is ongoing.
