BRS Legislature Party Deputy Leader Talasani Srinivas Yadav criticised the Congress government over the voter registration process for MLC elections during a press conference at Telangana Bhavan. He said only 23,000 applications had been received so far in Hyderabad district and questioned the difficulties faced by graduates who had already voted in previous elections but were required to register again. He urged all eligible graduates to enrol as voters and said the party had decided to intensify its registration drive from the following day. Constituency-wise meetings would be held over the next two days, and he said the party would meet the Chief Electoral Officer on Monday to explain the problems with the process.
Talasani also criticised the state government over reported electricity, drinking water and irrigation problems. He urged the government to address the difficulties faced by farmers and the public and seek suggestions from the opposition if necessary. Referring to the previous BRS government, he said people were aware of the electricity and water supply situation during K. Chandrashekar Rao’s tenure. He accused the ruling government of repeatedly targeting BRS instead of focusing on public issues and called for better coordination to prevent further inconvenience to people. MLA Kaleru Venkatesh, MLCs Vani Devi and Dasoju Sravan, former corporation chairpersons Krishank, Gajjala Nagesh and Allipuram Venkateshwar Reddy, among others, attended the press conference.
