Statewide Uproar Over Voter List Irregularities

A large-scale voter irregularity has surfaced in Andhra Pradesh, with Tirupati Assembly constituency alone identifying over 90,882 votes (30.77%) for deletion out of 2,95,288 total voters. Among them, more than 57,000 individuals have permanently migrated, over 20,000 voters are untraceable, and more than 6,000 have duplicate entries. This reveals that nearly one-third of the voter base may consist of invalid or fake entries. Allegations point to large-scale inclusion of fictitious voters during the previous YSRCP regime, especially during the Tirupati Lok Sabha by-election, where fake addresses and identities were reportedly used.

Similar discrepancies were identified across multiple constituencies in Rayalaseema. In Kurnool, 67,755 votes (24.67%) were marked for deletion, while Panyam recorded 51,985 such entries. Kadapa constituency reported 67,031 questionable votes, including over 32,000 untraceable individuals. Significant irregularities were also found in Chandragiri, Nellore Rural, and Anantapur Urban. Officials identified tens of thousands of duplicate and invalid entries, raising serious concerns over electoral integrity and past voter registration practices.
