In the run-up to the April 23 Assembly elections in Tamil Nadu, political campaigning has intensified across the state. Chief Minister M. K. Stalin launched a sharp attack on the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) and its ally AIADMK. He asserted that Tamil Nadu would never accept the imposition of Hindi, even if offered ₹10,000 crore. Stalin accused the Centre of attempting to undermine the state’s linguistic identity by promoting Hindi aggressively.
Addressing a public meeting in Pudukottai, Stalin criticized Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, stating that his role is to strengthen education, not saffronise it. He alleged that the Centre is using policy tools to push Hindi in non-Hindi speaking states. Stalin further claimed that ₹2,000 crore in educational funds meant for Tamil Nadu were withheld due to the state’s refusal to adopt the three-language policy. He also strongly condemned the alliance between NDA and AIADMK in the context of the upcoming elections.
