England have secured the three-match Test series against Pakistan with a match to spare, taking an unassailable 2-0 lead after a commanding 194-run victory in the second Test at Lord’s. England set Pakistan a challenging target of 389 runs in the fourth innings, but the visitors struggled from the outset. Pakistan lost three crucial wickets for just 14 runs during the chase, putting them under severe pressure.
Saud Shakeel offered resistance with a determined 97 and attempted to keep Pakistan’s hopes alive. However, he received little support from the rest of the batting line-up. Pakistan were eventually dismissed for 194 in 50.5 overs, handing England a comprehensive victory. The result gives England an unbeatable lead in the series, while Pakistan will now look to salvage some pride in the third and final Test.
