Chief Minister Revanth Reddy praised Safran for confidently selecting Telangana at the opening of Safran Aircraft Engine Services India (SAESI) in Hyderabad. He emphasized that the state's aerospace and defense industry has reached a significant turning point with the construction of this new facility. Built with a ₹1,300-crore investment, the center is India's first MRO facility for LEAP engines and is expected to create jobs for more than 1,000 qualified technicians and engineers. The M88 military engine MRO, which will greatly benefit the Indian Air Force and Navy, also had its foundation stone laid.
The Chief Minister highlighted Hyderabad's status as a major center for aerospace and defense, with 1,500 MSMEs and more than 25 international businesses based there. Major international players like Safran, Boeing, Airbus, Tata, and Bharat Forge have been drawn to the region by progressive industrial policies, top-notch infrastructure, aerospace parks, and SEZs. Additionally, he mentioned that Telangana's aerospace exports doubled last year, surpassing pharmaceutical exports for the first time, reaching ₹30,742 crore in just nine months.
Revanth Reddy emphasized the government's initiatives for skill development, such as the creation of the Young India Skills University and the upgrading of 100 ITIs. He invited international partners to the Telangana Rising 2047 summit on December 8–9 and discussed the proposed 30,000-acre Bharat Future City. He urged the Prime Minister to designate the Bengaluru–Hyderabad area as a Defence and Aerospace Corridor and restated Telangana's goal of becoming a $1 trillion economy by 2035 and a $3 trillion economy by 2047.
