Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy on Friday launched a sharp attack on the previous BRS government, alleging that the state was “looted by blocking Godavari waters” in the name of the Kaleshwaram project. Addressing the Praja Palana–Pragathi Bata public meeting at Bardipur on the outskirts of Nizamabad, he questioned BJP leaders over what he described as their silence in protecting K. Chandrashekar Rao and K.T. Rama Rao, who he alleged siphoned off massive public funds. Revanth Reddy recalled past statements by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah, who had accused the BRS of turning Kaleshwaram into an “ATM,” and asked why BJP leaders failed to act even after the issue was referred to the CBI.
Calling the BRS and BJP “inseparable allies,” the Chief Minister urged voters in the united Nizamabad district to support Congress candidates in the municipal elections. He said development funds can flow smoothly only when councillors and corporators belong to the ruling party. Highlighting welfare initiatives, Revanth Reddy said his government had issued new ration cards, supplied fine rice to over 3.12 crore people, provided free electricity up to 200 units for 50 lakh poor families, enabled free bus travel for women, distributed 1,000 buses to women’s groups, created livelihoods through SHGs, and provided jobs to 70,000 youth. He asserted that inclusive governance and social justice were the reasons people entrusted him with power.
