Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has begun his election campaign in Punjab, focusing on the growing drug problem in the state. Addressing the public, he expressed concern over the spread of drugs, locally referred to as 'Chitta', and described it as one of Punjab's biggest challenges. He stressed the need for effective measures to tackle the issue and protect the state's youth.
Rahul Gandhi also criticised the ruling Aam Aadmi Party government, alleging that it is being controlled from Delhi instead of working independently for Punjab. He said the state needs a government that prioritises the interests and development of its people. He further accused the BJP and the Shiromani Akali Dal of downplaying the seriousness of the drug problem during their previous political tenures.
