Andhra Pradesh Announces Indirect Election Schedule for Deputy Mayors and Vice-Chairpersons

The Andhra Pradesh State Election Commission has finalised the schedule for indirect elections in 87 municipalities and nagar panchayats and 13 municipal corporations across the state. State Election Commissioner Anil Chandra Punetha released the schedule. Election notices will be issued to the elected mayors, chairpersons and ward members by November 18.

According to the schedule, indirect elections for deputy mayors and vice-chairpersons will be held on November 23. The same date has also been fixed for the swearing-in ceremonies of municipal corporation mayors and municipal chairpersons. The announcement sets the timeline for completing the next stage of the urban local body election process in Andhra Pradesh.
