

Iran has permitted Indian oil and gas vessels to pass through the Strait of Hormuz, highlighting the long-standing cordial ties between India and Iran. Speaking to the media, Dr. Abdul Majid, a representative of Iran’s Supreme Leader, stated that the two nations share over 5,000 years of cultural, economic, educational, and heritage connections. He expressed optimism that bilateral relations would continue to strengthen further. He also mentioned that Narendra Modi and Iran’s Supreme Leader have held several constructive telephonic discussions, reinforcing mutual cooperation.
Dr. Abdul Majid emphasized that while Iran does not seek conflict, it remains prepared for self-defense under the current circumstances. He noted that meaningful, unconditional dialogue between both sides is essential to end the ongoing tensions. Although Iran is open to peace talks, it will not accept imposed conditions. He also cautioned that any ceasefire may not last long given the prevailing situation, reaffirming Iran’s readiness to respond to any aggression while continuing to advocate for peace.
