Indian security agencies have raised concerns over alleged cross-border telecom activities originating from Pakistan that are reportedly aiding terror networks operating in Jammu and Kashmir. According to officials, cellular signals from telecom towers located across the border are reaching certain areas in Jammu, potentially enabling covert communication between handlers and infiltrators. Authorities believe such activities violate international telecommunication norms and pose a significant security challenge in sensitive border regions.
Officials have identified the presence of foreign telecom signals in areas including Kathua, Rajouri, Poonch, and around correctional facilities in the Jammu region. Security experts say the use of advanced communication technologies and encrypted networks could make monitoring more difficult for law enforcement agencies. The matter has also raised concerns regarding compliance with international telecommunication regulations, which require countries to prevent harmful or unauthorized signals from crossing into neighboring territories.
