Kannada star Yash’s ‘Toxic’, directed by Geetu Mohandas, has reportedly failed to receive the expected response from audiences, with the film witnessing a decline in collections from its second day. Amid the discussion surrounding the film’s performance, ‘Kantara’ star Rishab Shetty has come forward in support of Yash. Responding to the film through his Instagram Story, Rishab said that in a creative journey, a story or certain characters may not always progress in the way audiences expect. However, that does not necessarily mean the path chosen by the filmmaker or actor was wrong.
Rishab praised Yash for the commitment he displayed while portraying a larger-than-life character. He said he understands the level of dedication required for an actor to bring a challenging role to life and appreciated the transformation Yash underwent for the part. Rishab also highlighted the film’s attempt to explore how guilt can contribute to toxicity in a person’s life, calling it an unconventional subject. He expressed his support for Yash’s bold decision and said he shares Yash’s passion and ambition to take Kannada cinema to a global audience. His public appreciation has won praise from Yash’s fans and sparked discussion about artists supporting one another irrespective of a film’s commercial outcome.
