Nimmala Fires Back at the “Axe Party” in Palakollu

Andhra Pradesh Water Resources Minister Nimmala Ramanaidu urged people to reject what he described as the “axe party”, alleging that it was misleading the public with false claims. He also called on people to question leaders of the party over what he described as derogatory remarks against women. Speaking in Palakollu in West Godavari district on Sunday, Ramanaidu said he was working to bring funds for the development of the constituency. He alleged that Palakollu had not received adequate development during the previous government’s tenure. He said the earlier TDP government had sanctioned Rs 200 crore and started works to provide a permanent solution to the drinking water problem, but alleged that the subsequent government cancelled the project. He added that the coalition government revived the drinking water scheme using Godavari water from Vizzeswaram after coming to power.

Ramanaidu also alleged that the previous government had diverted Rs 160 crore in Palakollu after mortgaging TIDCO houses in the names of beneficiaries. He said construction of the incomplete TIDCO houses was progressing and that the government was working to hand them over to beneficiaries within two months. Ramanaidu has previously made similar allegations against the YSRCP over development and governance issues.
