Indian pacer Khaleel Ahmed is set to return to Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) after a player-trading deal with Chennai Super Kings (CSK) ahead of the upcoming IPL season. As part of the agreement, SRH have acquired Khaleel, valued at ₹4.8 crore, and New Zealand all-rounder Nathan Ellis, valued at ₹2 crore. In exchange, the Hyderabad franchise has sent Liam Livingstone and Jack Edwards to CSK. Khaleel previously represented SRH from 2018 to 2021, making this a return to the franchise where he began his IPL journey.
Livingstone was bought by SRH for ₹13 crore at the auction, but CSK will reportedly pay him ₹6 crore under the trade deal. Jack Edwards will retain his existing price of ₹3 crore. Despite taking 15 wickets in 14 matches last season, Khaleel has been released by CSK as part of the arrangement. The IPL trading window is set to close on the 17th of this month. Meanwhile, reports have emerged that Mumbai Indians could trade captain Hardik Pandya to Punjab Kings, while a few other franchises are also said to be discussing a possible deal involving the all-rounder.
