A shocking mass murder case has come to light in Bengaluru, Karnataka, where a cab driver allegedly killed seven people, including his wife and her relatives. The incident took place in Rajajinagar. The accused, identified as Indu Shekhar, reportedly held a grudge against his wife's family, believing that her relatives were interfering in their marital life. The couple had been married for 20 years, and frequent disputes over the issue allegedly led to the murders. According to preliminary findings, Shekhar began carrying out the killings on October 17, luring his victims to his house one by one and attacking them with a pestle. He later allegedly dumped their bodies at different locations across the city.
The deceased have been identified as his wife Sunitha, mother-in-law Rupavathi, brothers-in-law Shivakumar and Shankar, two other relatives, Divya and Nalini, and a seven-year-old child. Police said the accused used different excuses to summon each victim to his house before killing them. After murdering Sunitha, he allegedly concealed her body and told relatives and neighbours that she had gone on a trip with a friend. He also switched off her phone to avoid suspicion. The case came to light after Nalini's mother lodged a missing-person complaint. During the investigation, police questioned Shekhar, who reportedly confessed to the murders. Investigators also suspect that his daughter may have assisted him in carrying out the crimes.
