Former minister Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy has built a strong political presence through a strategy of bringing influential leaders from rival parties into his camp. His political journey began with an unsuccessful contest from Pileru on a Janata Party ticket in 1978, reportedly with the support of former President Neelam Sanjiva Reddy. He later sought the blessings of senior Congress leader Nallari Amarnath Reddy, father of former Chief Minister Nallari Kiran Kumar Reddy, when he was preparing to contest from Pileru on a Congress ticket. Amarnath Reddy, who had the support of former Prime Minister P.V. Narasimha Rao, was an influential minister in the state at the time. However, after Amarnath Reddy's death, Peddireddy gradually distanced himself from the Nallari family. Over the years, he emerged as a prominent political figure, with his approach to local rivalries and political alliances becoming a defining feature of his career.
Several leaders who once opposed Peddireddy eventually joined his political camp, while others shifted parties after facing political challenges, according to the account. Srinath Reddy, who defeated Peddireddy in Pileru in 1994, later became politically inactive. Pokala Ashok Kumar, a TDP leader known for his proximity to Chandrababu Naidu, reportedly joined Peddireddy's camp after facing difficulties over land-related matters and was subsequently given an opportunity to serve as a TTD governing body member. Dr Iqbal Ahmed, who contested from Pileru on a TDP ticket in 2014, later joined the YSRCP and was appointed chairman of the Minority Corporation. The account also refers to several other leaders, including Dr Venkatramaiah, Abbir reddygaru Venkataramanaidu, Mallela Reddibasha, Dr Lakshminarayana, Narayana and Ratna Sekhara Reddy, who moved between political camps at different stages. These developments illustrate the shifting alliances and intense political competition that have shaped Pileru politics over the years.
