The Supreme Court has declined to transfer the trial in the Tirupati laddu adulteration case outside Andhra Pradesh at this stage. During the hearing, senior advocate Siddharth Dave argued that a hostile atmosphere prevailed in the state and expressed concerns over the possible impact of political statements made by the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister on the proceedings. He urged the court to consider shifting the trial to another state to ensure a fair and impartial process.
Responding to these concerns, Chief Justice of India Surya Kant observed that the court had already restrained the concerned individuals through its earlier order. He further stated that the parties could approach the Supreme Court again if any issue arose in the future. Concluding the hearing, the CJI said that no sufficient grounds had been established to justify transferring the case outside Andhra Pradesh at this stage. Accordingly, the trial will not be shifted to another state for now.
