MLAs’ Conduct Is Ministers’ Responsibility: Chandrababu’s Directives

Chief Minister and party leader N. Chandrababu clarified that it is the ministers who are responsible for correcting the behavior of MLAs who were elected on the TDP ticket. He asked the in-charge ministers, who oversee districts, to supervise the 7–8 MLAs in their areas and guide them when needed. Speaking at a recent cabinet meeting about MLA conduct, Chandrababu noted that many newcomers were given a chance in the last elections. While some are performing well and moving forward confidently, others are making mistakes or not following the party line. He instructed the in-charge ministers to counsel such members and, if they fail to reform, to take sterner measures.

He also urged ministers to bring coalition MLAs (from BJP and JanaSena) in line. Taking into account Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan’s recommendations, Chandrababu said that ministries should consider strict action when necessary. He emphasized preventing actions that could tarnish the party or government image and warned against remarks made in public that provoke controversy. The discussion also touched upon the conduct and assertiveness of some former ministers from YSRCP and current MLAs.
