‘Epic’ Made Me More Confident and Taught Me to Believe in Myself: Vaishnavi Chaitanya

Vaishnavi Chaitanya, who shot to fame with the success of ‘Baby’, says her character Kadali in ‘Epic – First Semester’ is one she connected with deeply. Speaking to the media in Hyderabad ahead of the film’s release on September 11, the actress said the story of ‘Epic’ is completely different from ‘Baby’, despite reuniting with Anand Deverakonda. She believes audiences will focus on the new story and characters rather than comparing the two films. Vaishnavi admitted that she initially felt nervous about choosing roles after ‘Baby’, as sustaining success was a bigger challenge, but said she now makes decisions without that pressure.

Talking about Kadali, Vaishnavi said the character represents a girl who wants to live life on her own terms but often keeps those aspirations inside due to circumstances and parental influence. She felt that everyone needs to stand up for themselves at some point, which made the role particularly meaningful to her. The actress added that working on the film helped her overcome her hesitation about expressing herself publicly and made her more confident. According to Vaishnavi, Kadali taught her an important lesson — that believing in oneself should come before expecting others to believe in you.
