Maheshwar Reddy Questions Land Irregularities

BJP Legislature Party leader Alleti Maheshwar Reddy questioned why cases had not been registered or action initiated despite Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy stating that a scam involving lakhs of crores of rupees had occurred under the previous government. Speaking at the Assembly media point on Friday, he sought clarity on alleged land transfers and registrations. Referring to the government’s claims about transactions involving 23 lakh acres, he questioned why the registrations had not been cancelled. He also demanded that details of government, forest and assigned lands and other land transactions be made public.

Maheshwar Reddy demanded a judicial inquiry by a sitting judge into the alleged land irregularities and said the BJP would continue its agitation until such an inquiry was ordered. He also sought details of the procedure followed in clearing five lakh acres from Part-I B of the prohibited list. Meanwhile, BJP Legislature Party Deputy Floor Leader Payal Shankar alleged that farmers were facing difficulties after their lands were included in the Section 22-A prohibited list. He said the BJP was fighting on behalf of affected farmers and had organised a protest near Indira Park over their grievances.
