The BJP has accused Congress leader Rahul Gandhi of raising unnecessary issues to create political unrest, asserting that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will remain in office as long as such allegations continue. Reacting to the INDIA bloc rally held at Ramlila Maidan in Delhi, BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra described the gathering as a chaotic and poorly managed event. He claimed that although the Congress had expected around 10 lakh people to attend, only a small crowd turned up. Patra also dismissed both the turnout claims and the allegations of vote theft as false.
Patra further alleged that camera angles and photography techniques were used to make the gathering appear larger than it was, adding that such tactics could not make anyone the Prime Minister. He also criticised Rahul Gandhi for describing the 2024 Lok Sabha elections as illegal. Referring to Gandhi’s remarks about Narendra Modi and Amit Shah not holding their current positions if the elections had not taken place, Patra accused him of making statements that reflected an entitled attitude. He asserted that India belongs to all its citizens and is not anyone’s personal property.
