Minister Seethakka strongly condemned former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao’s remarks on the free bus travel scheme for women. She said his comments were disrespectful to women and hurt their dignity. Questioning his statement that the scheme is “useless”, she challenged whether he has the courage to announce its cancellation if he truly believes so, and demanded that he withdraw his remarks immediately.
She highlighted that the scheme has benefited lakhs of women by reducing their daily travel expenses and improving access to jobs, education, and healthcare. According to her, it has saved women nearly ₹10,000 crore so far and plays a crucial role in promoting financial independence and social freedom. She criticized attempts to undermine the scheme and demanded that KCR apologise to women for hurting their sentiments.
