The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced changes to its senior men’s selection committee. Former Indian spinner Pragyan Ojha has been appointed as the committee’s chairman, succeeding Ajit Agarkar, whose tenure has ended. The BCCI stated that Ojha was chosen based on seniority, determined by the number of Test matches played. Former Indian spinner Ramesh Powar has also been appointed as a member of the panel.
The five-member selection committee comprises Pragyan Ojha as chairperson, along with Shiv Sundar Das, RP Singh, Ajay Ratra and Ramesh Powar. The BCCI expressed its gratitude to Agarkar for his commitment, decisive approach and contributions during his tenure, which began in July 2023. The committee’s decisions will be important as India prepares for upcoming international assignments, including the 2027 ODI World Cup and the World Test Championship.
