Former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy spoke to MP Mithun over an alleged attack attributed to Telugu Desam Party (TDP) supporters and enquired about the incident. Jagan alleged that Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu was misusing his authority and that the state’s police machinery was failing to respond effectively to attacks. He claimed that the ruling party was resorting to intimidation because of public dissatisfaction with its administration. Jagan also alleged that the political atmosphere in Andhra Pradesh had deteriorated and expressed concern that even the party’s leader in the Lok Sabha was not adequately protected.
Jagan said his party would confront what it described as political violence through legal and constitutional means. He stated that the YSRCP would bring the situation before the courts and seek appropriate measures to ensure that elections are conducted peacefully. He also called for the deployment of paramilitary forces, arguing that their presence would help maintain security during the electoral process. Jagan maintained that his party would face the elections with patience and determination. These statements reflect the YSRCP leader’s allegations and political position; the claims regarding the attack and the government’s conduct have not been independently verified here.
