

Telangana Jagruthi president Kalvakuntla Kavitha on Monday expressed solidarity with the Velugumatla victims in Khammam district. She later staged a protest along with the victims by sitting in front of the Dr. B. R. Ambedkar statue at ZP Centre in Khammam. The demonstration was held along with DSP president Visharadan Maharaj, highlighting the concerns of the displaced families.
Police intervened during the protest and detained the leaders for staging a demonstration without prior permission. They were later released after being served notices under Section 41A of the CrPC. Later in the night, around 9 PM, Kavitha reached Ambedkar Bhavan in Khammam and launched an indefinite hunger strike along with the displaced people of Velugumatla to press for justice and resolution of their issues.
