Union Minister of State Srinivas Varma strongly condemned the abusive remarks made by YSRCP leader Ambati Rambabu against Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu. Speaking to the media in New Delhi on Monday, Varma said the comments were shameful and unbecoming of a civilized society. He asserted that abusing a sitting Chief Minister goes against democratic values and reflects a complete lack of political ethics.
Srinivas Varma further stated that while opposition parties are free to meet constitutional authorities in a democracy, attempting to do so after creating unrest through offensive remarks only exposes political immaturity. He pointed out that the YSRCP, which was reduced to just 11 seats in the last elections, does not even hold opposition status and should refrain from anti-people politics. Emphasizing the need for dignified political discourse, the Union Minister urged leaders to uphold democratic decorum, remarking that the emergence of YSRCP itself had become a burden for the people of Andhra Pradesh.
